Introduction

Today I’m going to be reviewing the Ugly Stik Elite Spinning Rod.

Ugly Stik has a reputation for building extremely strong and durable rods, rods that are built to last through many battles with fish, and the Ulgy Stik Elite spinning rod is no different when it comes to raw strength and durability.

From first looks, the Ugly Stik Elite Spinning Rod appears to be a great rod, available in a multitude of sizes built to suit a variety of fishing styles and situations.

The Ugly Stik Elite series features 35% more graphite than the Ugly Stik GX2 series, this means the rod is noticeably lighter but still retains it’s legendary strength anglers have come to expect from Ugly Stik.

Ugly Stik Elite series rods also feature premium cork handles so that you can handle the rod with comfort, this series of rods also have Ugly Tuff guides for enhanced durability.

Pros

  • 35% more graphite makes it lightweight
  • Durable rod

Cons

  • Reports that braided line has damaged the tip

Ugly Stik Elite Spinning Rod Product Review

As mentioned above, one of the first things we notice about the Ugly Stik Elite Spinning rod is that it now has 35% more graphite, this allows the rod to be much lighter than its predecessors in the Ugly Stik GX2 range.

The Ugly Stik Elite Range has a variety of rod lengths ranging from 4’6” to 7’6”, with power ranging from ultra-light to medium-heavy.

The rods differ in their construction with some rods being a single piece and others being 2 pieces, it entirely depends on the size of the rod and the power of the rod.

This rod also features a premium cork handle that allows for maximum control, you will surely notice the great feel of the Ugly Stik Elite as other anglers have reported.

Ugly Tuff one-piece stainless steel guides provide enhanced durability, no wonder this amazing rod is so strong.

The rod also features a solid fiberglass clear tip, which is extremely durable and remarkably sensitive which I’m sure many anglers will appreciate.

The rod can be used with all types of line although some anglers have reported that using braided line appears to have damaged the tip by creating notches in it, although reports like this are rare, most anglers express how strong the components of the rod appear to be and have said how well the rod has held up to many long fishing battles.

Flexible enough to snag big fish and feels sensitive, this rod is definitely a crowd-pleaser amongst fishermen and fisherwomen.

Summary

So, would I recommend the Ugly Stik Elite Spinning Rod Series?

Yes, I definitely would recommend the Ulgy Stik Elite, it is clear to see just how strong and durable this spinning rod truly is, the feedback from anglers is that they love this fishing rod.

The premium cork handle adds an excellent level of grip to ensure your rod never comes loose when you are battling along, it makes handling the rod much easier.

So all in all this is a pretty great rod and any angler would benefit from its use.
